Emily meets the Lord Mayor

Since the Emmeline Pankhurst statue was unveiled in Manchester in 2018, five more statues of men have joined her.

There are now 22 statues of men across the city - and only two women!

So says Councillor Bev Craig, the first female Leader of Manchester City Council. A majority of the Council are women.

Bev joined the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Donna Ludford, to see the statue design.
